Ever since we moved to the mountains at the end of last year I’ve been fighting dry skin, especially on my face. I never had issues with dry skin when we lived down south but this northern climate really took a toll on me. My cheeks and nose, in particular, were dry and flaky so it was apparent my old skincare regime wasn’t working for me anymore. I don’t wear a lot of makeup so quality skincare is really important.

After living here for a few months I reached out my friend Christine for help. She’s the beauty genius behind Simply Stine and I knew if anyone could help me get my dry skin under control it would be her. She set me up with an amazing new morning and evening skincare routine. It’s only been a couple of weeks but I am seeing tremendous results. If you find yourself struggling to combat dry skin I highly recommend checking out this routine.

BIODERMA Hydrabio H20 is a cleansing and make-up removing water designed for sensitive skin. It also holds an exclusive biological patent which retrains the skin to stimulate moisture by stimulating the production of aquaporins (water channels in the skin) and retain the water it needs to be balanced. Basically, you begin moisturizing your skin as soon as you cleanse it which is amazing! I found a lot of cleansers were drying out my skin which was only making my problem worse so this was a fabulous find.

Use it every day, morning and night, to cleanse your skin. Just soak a cotton pad and gently cleanse or remove makeup from your face.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5

This Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 serum is vegan, just FYI for those of you that look for vegan beauty or skincare products. It’s a water-based serum so you should apply it before any oil-based products (otherwise they don’t mix well and won’t soak into your skin like they should).

I apply about 3 or 4 drops of this to my (clean) face every morning and evening. It moisturizes really well and leaves my skin feeling soft and vibrant. It’s also ridiculously affordable considering how much is in that tiny bottle! I’ve used it every day for weeks and the bottle still looks almost full. Once it has fully soaked in, I apply a couple of drops of 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil, also by The Ordinary.

It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Moisturizer

This Confidence in a Cream moisturizer is definitely the priciest item in my skincare arsenal and due to the approx $48 price point I likely wouldn’t have picked it up at all if Christine hadn’t been so insistent that I use it.

It’s perfect for sensitive dry skin (like mine) and it provides so much hydration! You can see such a difference in my skin thanks to this cream moisturizer. Not only has it provided the hydration I’ve deeply needed but it has reduced the look of my pores which is something I’ve always been self-conscious about. I saw results there in only a few days. Brandon even told me my skin looked “more radiant” which bolstered my confidence for sure! I wouldn’t normally spend $48 on a moisturizer but this one absolutely gets my seal of approval.

Confidence in a Cream Moisturizer to fight dry skin

This system has worked so well for me. I can’t believe the change in my skin after only a couple of weeks! I saw changes after a few days but now that it’s been a couple of weeks I’m thoroughly impressed. I’ve tried to talk Christine into launching online skincare consulting sessions because she knows her biz! I can’t recommend following her blog highly enough, she’s a total queen when it comes to beauty and skincare.

If you struggle with dry skin like I do you have to check out this routine. I’m sure you’ll love it!
