HAPPY NOVEMBER! Almost… I’m dropping my Cherish post a day early this month because we don’t celebrate Halloween (no reason, just not our thing) so I figured I’d blog out my thoughts instead. October was a whirlwind month found ourselves finding our routine, exploring more, and taking a road trip to Colorado.
Brandon and I chose “Cherish” as our word of the year for 2018; at the beginning of each month I’m sharing a check-in to update you on how we’re living our word of the year. Our goal is to stay focused on taking time to appreciate where we are in life and being content with our day-to-day.
October – Recap
I know it may seem backward to say a month was both a whirlwind and routine but I can’t think of any other way to describe it. We’re finally finding our groove here in St. Louis and Missouri is starting to feel like “home”. We’ve been here for 4.5 months but I feel like we’ve lived here for years. It feels good.
In my Cherish: October post I mentioned World Vegetarian Day and shared favorite vegetarian recipes. Well, in October Brandon’s doctor told him that even though he tested negative for
At the end of October, we took a weekend road trip to Colorado. Yes, it’s a 12-hour drive from here and yes, that’s not nearly enough time to see much but we needed to get away. My infertility depression was kicking hard and the upcoming holidays make it so much worse
November – Looking Ahead
We certainly found ourselves bitten by the travel bug last month. I found there to be something very therapeutic just driving without any obligations, commitments, or schedules. Between a full-time career, my blog, and my little family everything feels overwhelming and constantly scheduled. I know I do it to myself so I try not to complain but being on the road with nowhere to be just felt really good. Obviously, with a full-time job I have to be home on time but it’s worth it.
We will be traveling again in November and hope to also visit Oklahoma and Wyoming soon. The dogs have already been to at least 14 states and we’ve sort of made it a mission to get them to as many states as possible.
Otherwise, I’m just focusing on preparing for the holidays and enjoying the close of 2018. It’s been a good year full of changes but as I see it beginning to wrap up I can confidently say it was a good year.
