I cannot believe 2017 is over, can you? It went by really quickly but then again, they all seem to go by quickly these days. Sometimes I feel like I blink and whole weeks or months pass at a time. Time is zooming by and it can feel so hard to keep up. Time management is definitely a goal for 2018. 🙂  So, first a quick recap of our year then a few links to Honey & Pine’s most popular posts from 2017.

In some ways, this year was really good to us. We left Atlanta, GA and moved home to West Virginia in June 2017. It was absolutely a big change but overall it was a great change of pace. It’s brought us closer to family and closer to each other. Life has slowed down, we’re more focused, and we have developed new (shared) personal and professional goals. I also rebranded the blog to Honey & Pine which helped me niche down on the content I really want to share with you all. That’s going to be more focused in 2018 as we’re able to implement a lot of our life goals. On that front, I’m excited about the new year.

In other ways, 2017 wasn’t a good year at all. We are still having trouble trying to conceive and our family remains just the two of us. We’re both struggling with feelings of brokenness and loneliness over not having a family. It’s brought about periods of deep depression that, at times, I’ve struggling to get through. My mental health took a huge toll this year over our struggle to conceive and I’ve started seeing a therapist to work with me through my depression. It’s hard but I’m working on it. A huge part of that is forcing myself to go out even if it’s just for a micro-date for coffee at Starbucks or a walk by the riverfront. Those micro-dates with Brandon have been really helpful.

The best of Honey and Pine in 2017

Our most popular blog posts of 2017

I hope to spend 2018 sharing a lot more comfort food recipes, container gardening tips, and our adventures as we travel around the United States. I have purged a few categories that seemed to get very little engagement and I’ve started talking about those things on my social media channels instead. I’m also brainstorming ideas for a YouTube channel in 2018 so if you have any suggestions, toss them my way!

I’d love to hear your 2017 highlights! What was good? What was bad? What are your goals for the new year?
