I love my dogs but if there is one thing I don’t love, it’s the amount of pet hair flying around my house. It’s especially bad coming from our cheagle, Wilkins so within a few days of his adoption it was painfully clear we were going to need to find the best air purifier possible for pet hair to keep our home from becoming overwhelmed with dander and other pet allergens. Brandon and I both are sensitive to allergens and neither of us wanted to be uncomfortable in our home due to our dogs.
It is estimated that there are 78 million dogs and 85.8 million cats owned in the U.S. so finding your home full of potential pet allergens is very common. Pet allergies affect more than 3 million people in the U.S.! The symptoms of pet allergies range from sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, coughing, and watery itchy eyes to skin rashes or hives. Pet allergies can make it difficult for some people to own a pet but finding the best air purifier to keep your air clean and filtered is a great solution.

The best air purifier we’ve found is the Airfree Onix Air Purifier. It’s a natural solution for asthma, mold, respiratory allergies, and contaminated air due to pet dander. I keep ours in the bedroom since our dogs sleep in their crates right next to our bed and the pet dander seems to affect me the most while I’m trying to sleep. I hate waking up with a stuffy nose due to pet allergens in the air but having the purifier in there has been a tremendous help.
So, why do I rate the Airfree Onix Air Purifier the best air purifier?
- It is maintenance-free and doesn’t require you to change filters or clean it
- It is silent so there is no disruption to your day
- It destroys even the smallest of airborne microorganisms including fungus, dust mite feces, mold spores, and most air pollutants
- As a bonus, there’s even an adjustable nightlight
You can rest comfortably knowing you’re breathing in fresh, clean air!
The AirFree Onix Air Purifier does get a little warm on the top but that is normal and to be expected because it burns up the allergens and pollutants as it purifies. It won’t burn you to the touch nor have I ever had an issue with it burning a tabletop. I have placed mine on the top of our dresser with no issues whatsoever. You can also put it on the floor if you prefer so it can gather more dander and allergens but I like it up higher.
It works fabulously for rooms up to 650ft so if you’re looking to purify your room or a small space, this is the best air purifier you’ll find. I’ve absolutely loved mine!
Thank you to AirFree for providing the air purifier featured in this post.
