When You’re Ready to Start Trying to Conceive After a Miscarriage

Astroglide TTC™ sponsored this blog post and our journey TTC after miscarriage. The opinions and text are all mine.

It’s so hard to figure out when it’s time to try again after losing a pregnancy to miscarriage. When I lost my first pregnancy in May, 2014 I alternated between depression and anger for months. I didn’t know how I felt. Anytime my husband, my parents, my siblings, or my friends brought up the subject of trying again I cringed and shut the conversation down. I didn’t want to think about it, much less to talk about it. It was too painful. The idea just made me want to break down in sobs all over again.

Now, it’s been over a year since that loss and I’m ready to have the conversation.

My husband and I first starting to talk about trying again a few months ago. He brought it up tentatively at first. I know he was being cautious, uncertain how I was going to feel or respond after staying silent on the subject for so long. He first brought up the job security we have now that evaluations are over and probation has been passed. Then he mentioned the comfort of our new home and the spare room with no current use. As we talked about life and shared future dreams I realized it was time to move forward and try again. This time I’m also open to a little extra help and fortunately Astroglide® has joined my TTC journey.

I have been sent Astroglide TTC Trying to Conceive to aid my husband and I in our journey to conceiving again and hopefully adding a sweet little bundle of joy to our family. We love our furbabies but we are ready to hold a real (human) baby in our arms. Astroglide TTC™ is specially formulated for couples who are trying to conceive and supports fertility with adjusted pH levels. It also doesn’t impede sperm mobility like other products do which, as you know, is super important when you’re trying to become parents!

After my miscarriage I felt like I had excuse after excuse for not being ready yet. Amongst my many excuses I said:

  • It’s too soon. I don’t want this to feel like a ‘replacement’ baby.
  • I just started a new job. I want to be off of probation first (probation was 6 months).
  • We need new furniture. I want our apartment to feel like a home before we add a baby.
  • Let’s save just a little bit more money first.

But now even those excuses are in the past. It’s been 13 months since my miscarriage, I’m off of probation at work and recently received a pay raise, our apartment is furnished and our savings is healthy. We’re in a good space now and the biggest thing our lives are missing is a child. Not to mention, my niece turns 2 tomorrow and she has certainly aided in my case of baby fever.

So now, let’s do this! We’re ready to be parents.

I’m hoping that Astroglide TTC helps make our journey to parenthood a quick one. There  are other products on the TTC market that also affect environmental conditions (such as PH levels, osmolality, and the consistency of cervical mucus) studies have shown that Astroglide TTC is compatible with sperm and allows it to move freely which increases our chance of being successful! It also comes in pre-filled applicators so it’s easy to use and less messy than other products (another bonus!).

I’m really excited that Astroglide TTC has sponsored our journey to parenthood and I’m so anxious to be able to come back on here and announce that we’re expecting! I’m really praying that all goes well and that God blesses our new adventure in life. If you’re on your own TTC journey, and you’re interested in trying Astroglide TTC it’s available on Amazon and it’s totally worth the investment!

Care to share your TTC story? I’d love to hear about your journey, what worked for you, and any encouragement you have while I wait to see a positive test result! Astroglide TTC™ sponsored this blog post. The opinions and text are all my own.
