The sweetest books arrived in the mail yesterday. Put Me In the Story was kind enough to offer me complementary copies of the books so ordered them as a surprise gift for my husband. He and our dogs really are best friends and I thought these would be a sweet keepsake. After they were delivered yesterday I could barely hold back my excitement over them. I held them behind my back with a cheshire cat grin before finally handing them over. He loved them!
These dog-focused books from Put Me In the Story feature your dog’s name and photo on the cover along with a special dedication page. There are three options for books – Live. Love. Bark., You Had Me at Woof, and Who Rescued Who? – each of which is a unique expression of the extraordinary relationship between you and your pup. I ordered Live. Love. Bark. and You Had Me at Woof although Who Rescued Who? was tempting since Wilkins is a rescue dog.

The books from Put Me In the Story used to be designed for children but this new line is focused on keepsakes for dog lovers. Plus, the books support the Humane Society of the United States so you know that you’re also benefiting a good cause. The Who Rescued Who? book even lets you add your rescue organization or shelter logo to the cover. I had a hard time picking which of the books to get for him but Live. Love. Bark. allows you to add three additional photos throughout the book so I had to do that one for his chihuahua, Tebow.
He had that dog for about a year before we were together and he often credits having that dog as the reason he’s even alive today. Depression can be a tough monster to fight but having that little guy reliant on him gave him a purpose to keep going day after day even when things looked bleak. It was important to me that the book with the most pictures go to Tebow since he’s so special.
Inside, the books are full of dog photos and uplifting “dogmas” about life, love, and happiness. You can take a look inside the books here for a glimpse at the photos and dogmas they offer readers. I’m glad I gave them to him but there is a part of me that wishes maybe I’d kept them aside for the holidays. They would be a great keepsake for dog lovers if you have any you’re shopping for this year (hint*hint).
Put Me In the Story makes the ordering process so simple. All you have to do is upload the pictures in the order you want them to appear and write your dedication message. I recommend creating the dedication message in a word processor like Microsoft Word before creating your book because I wrote mine, then lost it when my browser decided to act a fool, and had to re-do it. It isn’t that long so it wasn’t a big deal but I’d been really thoughtful in what I wanted to say and couldn’t remember exactly what I’d written. Other than that, it’s a very simple process.
Now, these books are sitting on the bookshelf in our bedroom so we’ll always have a keepsake of our furry best friends. If you have any dog-lovers in your family I highly recommend checking these out and putting them on your gift giving list.
