Our 2017 Thanksgiving

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Brandon and I spent the day out at my parents’ hunting property with a bunch of family and friends. We ate sooooo much! I’m sure you all did too. There was turkey, ham, homemade cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, corn, and more. Of course, that doesn’t include the cookies and the pies. I’m sure I gained at least 10 pounds, haha.

I took a ton pictures because I realized I didn’t have any Thanksgiving pictures with my family since Thanksgiving of 2011. This was actually the first Thanksgiving I’ve spent with family since that year because we’ve all been separated by so much distance. It’s unbelievable it took 6 years for us to spend this holiday with my family again. As soon as I realized that I planned to take a lot of pictures to capture the memories. We didn’t have as much time together as I’d have liked because it’s also hunting season and the guys went back out to the woods as soon as dinner was over. 🙁  It was nice while we had the time together though.

Here are just a few of the photo highlights of family and food (although I’m not sharing a lot of the pictures because I don’t post photos of others without permission).

I hope you were all able to spend a great time with your family and friends as well. Usually, we’d spend tonight putting up our Christmas tree and we’d spend tomorrow decorating it but we actually put it up and decorated it last week. We’ll be in Atlanta for a week next month so we put the tree up early so we’d have time to enjoy it during the holiday season.

Now, we’re about to settle in with a cup of hot cocoa (with marshmallows, of course) and a Christmas movie as part of our favorite Thanksgiving traditions

I’d love to hear about your Thanksgiving. Did you travel or host?

  1. Wow, that property is gorgeous! Looks like a fun-filled day with your family…those are the best days. My boyfriend and I hopped over to the neighboring county to spend the day with my parents…I helped my mom cook, and I was sooo ready to eat by the end of it.
