Brandon and I recently had a little ‘staycation’ right here in Atlanta for a few days. We needed to get away but didn’t want to actually go anywhere. Instead, we chose to stay right here in Atlanta and just do the tourist thing for a few days. One of the things I wanted to do was get out of our apartment and stay in a bed & breakfast in Atlanta. A lot of people think of Atlanta and only think of downtown and the other city neighborhoods but there are still a few really great bed and breakfasts in Atlanta that are perfect for a weekend retreat.
Normally, whenever we go away for a weekend we prefer to stay in a Bed and Breakfast over a hotel whenever possible. I just find them to be so much more relaxing and fun. If they are pet-friendly then often will even have a hard you can let the dogs run loose in and I can tell you, my pups always love that! I also use bedandbreakfast.com to find a place to stay because it’s easy to search, they have great pictures, and I’ve found their reviews to be pretty accurate.
If you’re looking for a bed and breakfast in Atlanta, here are a few of my favorites:
Stonehurst Place is one of my favorite bed and breakfasts in Atlanta. It’s actually located in Midtown which you would never know when you’re on site. It’s quaint and nestled in this gorgeous little yard but just a few blocks away is the best the city has to offer. The Fox Theatre is nearby as is the arts district, fine dining, and access to the rest of the city via a midtown MARTA station. Stonehurst Place is a fabulous stop when you’re in the city.
Sugar Magnolia Bed & Breakfast
The Sugar Magnolia Bed & Breakfast is in Inman Park which is currently one of the most in-demand neighborhoods in the city. It was built in 1892 but it’s been updated with modern amenities and offers guests free wi-fi.
Inman Park is a gorgeous historic neighborhood but it’s still very close to the best of the city in Downtown and Midtown.
Inman Park Bed & Breakfast
The Inman Park Bed & Breakfast is only 3 miles from downtown so the location doesn’t really get any better than this if you’re looking for a great Bed and Breakfast in Atlanta that is still very close to the city center. This building was built over 100 years ago and actually has a unique history behind it (which you can read about here).
The owners do have two cats so just know before you book. 😉
