Hi! I’m Ashley
Atlanta, GA + Charleston, WV
In 2017, after spending years drowning in overwhelm and fighting in the rat race of Atlanta, GA my husband and I decided we were due for a change. We packed our bags and moved north to the mountains. It was here, in my home state of West Virginia, that I learned how to embrace the present and cherish the simple pleasures in life.
As we settled in to our new (my old) life, I felt a reawakening of passions I’d stifled for years. I’ve reconnected with my love of gardening and comfort food. I’ve started opening up to my husband about my appalachian childhood memories and making the comfort foods I haven’t had in what feels like forever.
I started Honey & Pine (H&P) so I can share my mountain life, gardening adventures, and comfort food recipes with you. I hope that you enjoy Honey & Pine and that it makes you feel like home.
Though care and trouble may be mine,
As down life’s path I roam,
I’ll heed them not while still I have
A world of love at home.
~J.J. Reynolds, “A World of Love at Home” October 1844
