It’s October! Fall colors started rolling in around here last month and it’s been so pretty. I’ve shared a few glimpses of it on Instagram already. I’ll be sharing more as the colors become really vibrant here in the next few weeks. I can’t wait. I’m so excited to spend this season in a place that actually has seasons. For the last few years we’ve been in either Florida or Georgia which is basically 50 weeks of summer and 2 weeks of almost-summer. This year we are experiencing fall in all its glory and I’m soaking up every second of it.
October is the fallen leaf, but it is also a wider horizon more clearly seen. It is the distant hills once more in sight, and the enduring constellations above them once again. – Hal Borland
Over the past few days I put all of our summer decorations away and started putting up our fall decor. I spent Sunday cleaning our front patio and putting out the start of what will be our fall entry decor. Right now it’s only a welcome mat and a door wreath but I’m pumpkin shopping soon!
I spent a lot of time last night (online) browsing my favorite stores to scope out outdoor fall decor. I ordered a lantern from Hayneedle and new string lights from Amazon. I also ordered a new wreath to hang inside over the mirror in our dining room. Christmas wreaths are always my favorite but there are some absolutely gorgeous fall wreath options. I need to learn how to DIY wreaths but until then, I shop. 😉
Here are a few of my favorites if you’re not the DIY – type either.
